Homeless Service Providers

We expect to serve 400 homeless veterans and job-ready, formerly homeless veterans in transitional housing continuum of care programs. KNMF serves formerly homeless veterans in continuum of care programs, homeless veterans, homeless men, women, and children, encampment dwellers, sheltered battered women and children, men in chemical/alcohol recovery programs, and needy children in Los Angeles County.

By working together with government and homeless service providers, we have helped to reduce the homeless veteran population from 54% to 33% since 1991. At Stand Downs, veterans are recruited to be taken off the street and placed in transitional housing continuum of care programs. Legal problems are addressed. Medical and dental check-ups are conducted and vaccines are administered. Homeless and formerly homeless veterans are informed about job training and placement opportunities. There will be a Job Fair/College/Trade School Fair held in conjunction with the Stand Down—registration for the Fair can be accessed on this website.

Monetary and product donations to support this event would be appreciated. KNMF has continued to make a difference in the lives of homeless veterans, formerly homeless veterans, other homeless and needy adults, and needy children in After School Literacy Programs. Monetary and in-kind donations are deductible on both Federal and State income tax returns. KNMF is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), tax-exempt charity—all donations are tax-deductible.

Please complete the form that applies to your volunteer needs, and mail or fax it KNMF two weeks before the scheduled event.
