Kids' Events

KNMF supports Children's After School and Summer Enrichment Activities Programs for downtown L.A., including Skid Row, East L.A., Inglewood, downtown Long Beach, and Harbor Cities.

KNMF Provides education and child development games and materials, books, school supplies, toys, sports equipment, bikes and safety gear, entertainment, and back-to-school shopping sprees.

Events are coordinated with schools and non-profit organizations. Programs concentrate on the following focus areas and KNMF donations provide the means to carry out programs.

  • Literacy and Character Education (Kidz-Lit & Second Step Curriculums)
  • Reading, Writing, Character Development, and Social/Emotional Development
  • Social Science/Science WRAP Themes
  • Health Leadership (upper grades)
  • Recreational Games and Activities
  • Homework and Language Arts/Math Centers
  • Spirit Rallies
  • Enrichment Activities - Marine Biology, Science, Math, Music, Arts, Drama, Yoga, Lacrosse, Golf, Basketball, Baseball, and other Sports, Technology, Community Service Learning Projects, Health, Visual Performing Arts, Cooking, and Gardening.

Registration

Please register by the deadline identified on this Web site or at least one week before each event. Please use this Web site to complete a registration form and email to KNMF. Inclde your name, telephone, school, company or group you represent (if applicable and if you'd like an appraisal). State the date of the event and hours worked — please review the website periodically for updates. Due to event preparation schedules, calls will not be received the day of the event or the day before the event. Maps to each event site can be accessed on this Web site.

Time

Volunteers usually spend between 2 to 4 hours at the event.

Due to event setup schedules, calls will not be received the day of the event or the day before the event.
